An Interview At Smashwords

Question: When did you first start writing?
Answer- Truthfully, I feel back in grammar school. I think a lot of us go through that phase. You are in school. You see a girl that you like. You write a poem and ask your peers to pass it to her. It just so happens that I came across someone who was not only nice, but also nice looking. She told me she enjoyed my poem. So, I continually wrote. (Laughing a little). Though I never got paid for it, I’ve had seven of my poems published in eight different publications. One that extended to a publishing company in the U.K. who started to work on publications in conjunction with some U.S. publishers.

Question: Are you saying that it was your childhood sweetheart who got you into to writing?
Answer- (Smiling) Well——. I’ve got to answer that question on two fronts. 1) I started to write just to keep in the trend of my peers, and 2) To some degree, I would prob—ably—  have to say yes. She told me it was something that she liked. I guess that I was kind of alright with writing. Back in the six grade, there was this poem that I wrote. I showed it to my grandmother. She told me why don’t you try to get it published? She must have been right on Q about something. I didn’t get paid for it, but it got published. I think about that now. I wish that I had kept it and treasure it. It would be just so that I could now look back on it. You know how it is when you’re young and active. Most of the times, your mind is not objectively sound on focusing on what could be inspiring and futuristic endeavors. You just want to be out there having fun.

Question: From what I understand you are presently promoting books of light comedy and romance. If you’ve established so much in poetry, why aren’t you promoting books of poetry?
Answer- (Smiling). Mm——. Don’t get me wrong. I still have my love for poetry and is writing poetry. Presently I have three books that’s out. Two of them are small series. The other, depending on how, and if it’s liked? Well, I’ll see what it could evolve into. I started off with some light and fun—damental acknowledgments of writing. One of them? I consider to be light and complimentary literature. The other two are light and basic acknowledgments of poetry and short stories. They could be found in the traditional and eBook formats on Lulu.com & Smashwords. If things go accounting to certain outlooks, they should be out globally within a couple of months.

Oh——. Back to the original focus of your inquiry.

Anyway, I was in seventh grade. One day, while I was on my free period, I was walking down the hall where the auditorium is located. As I was walking past it, the door was slightly opened. Hearing that they were practicing on a play I stopped and looked in. A girl who was directing it invited me. There were quite a few people sitting in the audience looking on. One of the guys who was playing a role was not good enough for it. They looked in the audience to find someone else willing to play the part. I, along with several other people raised my hand. They tried about three people for the part. One of them was me. I guess it was luck. I tried the part serval times before I got it right. They gave it to me. The girl who was directing it was kind of popular around the school. The unexpected and astonishing part about that, we never knew until then that she lived about two blocks from where I lived. After we found out, we became close friends. It was then I got with my English teacher, she gave me a book on reading and writing plays.  And—so—, there I go again with getting into writing.  I was writing a play. About halfway into it, I converted it into a book. The thoughts of trying to make characters inspiringly interact with each other arrived from there. It became something that I up to this day enjoy applying my time to.

Question: What's the story behind your latest book?
Answer- From formulations? love, humor, fascination, intrigue, distinction, and unification.

Question: When you say, from formulations-love, humor, fascination, intrigue, distinction, and unification, what are you exactly saying?
Answer- I wrote a book of light and inspiring comedy and romance. It’s about a family living their daily life. As I was writing it, I got this intuition to try, and bring to life the distinction of every character to be inspiringly applicable individually. My opinion, in this outlook, every setting has a preference. In this kind of reference, conceptions could possibly be inspiringly presented through the age, gender, and possibly occupational preferences. So, I rewrote the story to also expand and correlate to the perceptions of the characters individually.

Question:  I understand what you’re saying, but could you give me a more defined meaning of what you’re talking about?
Answer- Inspiringly, I hope so. For example- Let’s take the family setting. You have a tight-knit family that tries to stay established as a family, as well as trying to establish their individual goals. What I’m trying to present are individual goals established from and back to that established preference. The age and gender status are things that could be presented inspiringly, rewardingly and individually, and possibly in conjunction with certain endeavors.

Question: What are your desires to establish something of that magnitude?
Answer-Example let’s say that you have the oldest not too long getting out of college and is working in an exciting career involving computers. That being a light comedy and romance, I feel that people around that age status would probably like to get into something evolving around that setting. The next to the oldest, I didn’t put her into the book yet, hoping that the book is good enough that further publications will make the introduction applicable. There’s the third oldest who is in college. She’s inspiringly applying herself to her career, as well as committed to gymnastics. For people around that age status, I feel that it could probably be enlightening, as well as a recuperating acknowledgment of reading on that plane. And then, there are two little kids who are in grammar school. My opinion, you know we would want to have something that could be inspiring and rewardingly presented as them, and for them to enjoy. So, what I’m trying to do? I’m trying to present these statures in small series correlating from the actual contents of the family setting. The father and mother established from that plane? Mm—. I feel that they too could probably be some light and inspiring reading that could be individually acknowledged and enjoyed.

Question: In other words, the contents presented for these statures are arriving from one big book?
Answer- Well—. I guess I could say yes. I kind of established it as a five-part series that I hope commendably flowed from the process of one big book.

Question: I don’t mean to sound hard. You are trying to break one book big down into small books to get as much as you can out of it, right?
Answer- (Laughing a little) Somewhere along the line, I got a big— whiff of people telling me a lot of people are trying that. The answer from what people consider as being an opportunist? No. I informed you of how, and why I rewrote the book. It is to be acknowledged from somewhat of an inspiring and fun—damental nature. From 2009 to 2011, you’ll be able to see from my endeavors, I’ve been an author of light and short reading books. I have not one, but four publications established through a traditional publication outlet during that period.

Who knows, if I do what I have in mind right, you may wish there was a bigger book from where these individual preferences could be corresponded to. It’ll be in the thoughts of the love of inspiring and fruitful endeavors trying to correspond rewardingly.

Question: So, in other words. You like to be an author of short and light reading books?
Answer- Presently, I am.

Question: Can you tell us why?
Answer: Wow. I’ll try to be brief. A question like that sometimes asks a whole lot of questions. It’s just to keep in tune to the actual focus of just one question. As an author, sometimes I try to put myself in the reader's shoes. 1) Do I like to read a lot? 2) How many endeavors am I affiliated with, or what could prevail from my endeavors? And 3) There’s is me the author.

The answer to 1) I put a little something out. If people really like it, I can produce something more and longer from that perception. 2) If you’re very active in a lot of things, or you’re just taking a short trip to get into your endeavor, I’m hoping that I could present at least a little something that’s light and nice reading that will inspire you along your way.  And 3) There’s me the author. I don’t want to spend most of my time just reading and writing. I like to write and read my material to make sure that it’s something that people would enjoy reading. I like to read sometimes in my spare time. Hoping that my fellow authors feel the same way that I do, I also want to be able to get into their readings and if need be, correlate with helping them in their endeavors. And, mainly, I’ve got to have leisure time to get into other inspired endeavors. I feel these kinds of correlations are rational and complementary to a lot of our goals.

Question:  You said that from 2009 to 2011 that you established four publications through a traditional publication outlet. When you say traditional, was these publications printed books?
Answer- (Laughing a little) Wew——!!! Going through the origins of communication? (Again, laughing a little.) Sorry. I’m just joking. That’s being thorough though. Yes, they are. I enjoy, or should I say, overall though we enjoy the benefits of eBooks, I like to sometimes be able to sit back, cool out and feel down to earth by reading printed books. There are so many down to earth conceptions that could evolve through the process of just reading printed books.  You know, as a creative writer, it’s a mind-blowing experience just thinking about sitting down near a fireplace enjoying some cocoa, coffee, or tea and reading a good book. Just the setting itself, intuitionally, the perception flourishes the thoughts of you and your love sitting near a cozy fireplace inspiringly talking and rekindling thoughts. Sometimes just reading a printed book, the flow of the abundance of down to earth perceptions could inspire conceptions evolving to and through love. Mm——. There’s probably a good and cozy novel that could evolve just through being in that type of setting.

Question:  Do you think that you would still establish your books in the printed book format?
Answer-I accept and respect Mark Coker insight about the printed book process being more time-consuming. I still have respect for the printed book process. Again, I’m also with an indie service that publishes printed books. Again, it’s going to take some time. After a while, you should be able to find all my books in the electronic book, and traditional printed book format at every major distribution outlets that sells eBook and printed book. Examples are Amazon, etc. etc.

Oh—. Could I just say?
In my opinion, especially, sometimes, the traditional and electronic processes can go hand and hand. Sometimes, just reading a printed book gives me more down to earth perceptions. It gives me more of a flair to acknowledge the inspiring and versatile conceptions of applications through the electronic book processes. I’m trying to keep up with the times, without losing the true perceptions of how, and why there are the times.

And in that being said. Establishing on both contents. Be it a he, or a she? Yeah. I am looking for a good agent/manager. Someone who I feel that we could honestly trust each other, and inspiringly correlate and correspond. These days and times, people like that appear to be very hard to find. There appear to be so many opportunists out there. I don’t have the time to deal with them. Hm—. How is this for other people??? Nor do I want to have to find the time to have to deal with them.

Question:  In all that being said, what do you think about the e-book process?
Answer-(Laughing a little) Wew———, again???  Electronic books are astonishing and compelling means of communication. In my opinion, it distinctions can captivate us with the inspiring and cultivating acknowledgments that are enhanced through reading. It distinctions, if acknowledged, understood and used right can further inspire us with the qualities in thoughts. What I feel we’ve got to watch out for? It’s not to get so enhanced by it inspiring perceptions to wiz through communication, to the point that we lose the understanding that its distinctions give us to preserve and enhance it.

                                                                  A Thought?
                                                                 Diminishing?

Hm—.  For progress, always, diminishing? Productivity, profoundly, through inspired perceptions? In my opinion, not a good motto. I kinda wish that one of the origins of the electronic books process would not be looked upon from that perception. The Pdf format, from certain per—cep—tions— is an astonishing means of inspiring communication. The ingenuity of it to flower out perceptions could be a fun—damental and wondrous acknowledgment of enhancing the qualities of love and creativity. An example of that? I like to write what I call greeting cards e-books and other things of intimate value that truthfully inspire love in heart. Since the thoughts of true love are incredibly vast, let me try to intimately astonish you by saying etcetera, etc. etc. I like to try to be able to put feelings, enthusiasms into writing. The pdf process gives the electronic book process a means to stroll to words and unveil perceptions of thoughts that could be inspiring and astonishing.

An acknowledgment of that? Yeah—. I’ve learned some lessons. Right now, I’m free. I think I’ve learned to be more inspiringly inclined. Especially, I like to have some flair and ingenuity when acquiring through the electronic processes for my girlfriend. I want to be able to correlate, correspondence, especially, when I'm not with her. I want to find every means to excitingly and lovingly say, I— love— you—— too———.
Wew—.

Question: What motivated you to become an indie author?
Answer- I guess, looking at the formats. There appears to be more of the means to help you establish yourself successfully.

Question: How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Answer- I’ve just started trying to establish through Smashwords. Mark Coker has astonishingly flurried conceptions and perceptions involving the eBook process. I find his insights to be vast, inspiring and overwhelming. Like what his insight tries to convey, I hope that the experience could turn out to be inspiring, fruitful and rewarding.

Question: What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Answer- I think what a whole lot of writers who are really wanting to write as an occupation. That is succeeding from people enjoying your writings.

Question: What do your fans mean to you?
Answer- I hope all the things that I’ll be hoping and trying to give to them. That’s love, joy, happiness, and leisure.

Question: Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
Answer- I grew up on Long Island in New York. As for the means of how I hope it influenced my writings? I hope constructively.

Question: Describe your desk

Answer- (Laughing a little). Cluttered, and dusky. With that acknowledgment, I’ll just sign off wishing you, and everybody the best.
